It’s been awhile since I last blogged, and I promise that I will try to be more consistent (I’ll try). We have now moved to Shepherdsville, Kentucky and Robert is the Connections Pastor at Little Flock Baptist Church.

I am going back and forth between two states until school starts, and I have a new teaching job. I don’t have one yet, but as of today I have two interviews next week and reason to believe that I will have two more that are yet to be scheduled. You go from nothing to four!
We are living in a small two bedroom, one bathroom apartment that God graciously provided. It is exactly what we needed. So, I just wanted to share with you some great revelations that I have had and my top ten reasons that it is not so bad.
1. The vacuum cleaner can be plugged in, the entire apartment vacuumed, and you have to unplug it and move the cord to another outlet.
2. No dusting–enough said. We all hate it.
3. No making beds. You can kinda make up an air mattress.
4. I don’t have to cook as much–well, this is more of an excuse than a reason. Most of our pots and pans are still in Tennessee, but never mind that when I go to Tennessee I don’t bother to bring any back with me.
5. I scrubbed and mopped on my hands and knees both the bathroom and kitchen floor in 15 minutes.
6. Not worried about bad world news. No internet or cable. I have become a regular patron of McDonald’s and user of their WI-Fi.
7. We have to go to the laundry mat, but a few Sunday afternoons ago, we had great conversations with a Christian band that was passing through and a sweet young lady who is a believer. Interesting, huh?
8. Since we have no cable, Robert has stated that we are more interesting. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the Women’s World Cup along with a restaurant full of soccer fans. It was loud and crazy, and everyone should experience that.

9. We don’t have to worry about having people over for the holidays if we are still in this apartment at that time. We actually like having people over, but this year, if you visit us and please do, bring a chair, plates, fork, bed…

10. Having just returned from Haiti, I am thankful. We are living better than most all of Haiti and for that matter, many others around the globe. We should all be thankful, quit whining about material things that don’t matter, and let it go. It’s very freeing.
“…For I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.” Philippians 4:11
Well, I am learning…
