Easter was such a great day, but unfortunately, it’s followed by Monday. Monday. Still here. Still staying home or going out only for necessities, staying at safe a distance with a mask on and sanitizing every thing you touch.
Parents still struggling to teach those kids and maintain sanity and safety. Some are isolated alone. Many are sick at home or in the hospital or many are grieving the loss of a loved one due to this virus, or praying for one to recover. Essential workers working with the fear of what they are breathing in or touching. Teachers (my favorite heroes) struggling to teach unreachable children, concerned not only about their education, but about their physical and emotional well-being while being at home so much in dysfunctional situations.
It is enough to make you want to go to bed and cover your head with the blankets until it all goes away. Don’t think the thought hasn’t crossed my mind.
Repeat after me:
It’s going to be alright. This will end. I will try to relax and use this time to make memories. I will discipline myself to read the Word of God and pray and wait. He is in control; He always has been and always will be. I acknowledge that I am clueless on a delay basis as to what to do next, but since I am a child of the King, my heavenly Daddy knows what’s going on, so I am good. I will learn to be content in my circumstances (Philippians 4:11). I will quite whining. So many are in far worse condition than me. I will not give in to laziness (and Doritos) but I will live joyful in my new normal. I will look for ways to minister to others since this has never been about me.
There. Now enjoy these funnies and one INCREDIBLE video.
